Milford Senedd Groups (Pupil Engagement Groups)

Prioryville – Year 3-6

 

Purpose:

  1. To develop enterprising and creative learners through providing authentic and real pupil voice across the school for each and every learner, which they lead.
  2. To create ambitious and capable learners through creating opportunities for learners to action ideas and improve the area they are involved within.
  3. To develop ethically informed Citizens, who can evaluate needs in their council and take steps to improve these for our school and community.
  4. To create healthy, confident individuals through learners taking responsibility for initiatives at the school and promoting these to all stakeholders.

 

Logistics and Operation:

  1. There will be 6 councils in total, these will be:
    1. Community Crew
    2. MHCPS Courageous Councillors
    3. The ECO Gang
    4. Digi Wizards
    5. Fitness Fanatics Council (Physical, Eating and Mental/Emotional)
    6. Charitable Champions
  1. Pupils will all be given an opportunity to apply for the council of their choice.
  2. 48 pupils will be assigned to each of the 6 councils and will meet in two separate groups of 24 pupils. There will be 12 places available in each of the councils for each year group to ensure an even distribution of pupils across the year groups.
  3. Two teachers will be assigned to each group and will lead together. There will also be two Teaching Assistant’s assigned to each group.
  4. The groups will work in two separate groups of 24 with one of the teachers and one Teaching Assistant.
  5. When deemed necessary by the teachers, the groups will come together. This may be to share messages with all learners, share work undertaken, agree on next steps., etc…

Expectations:

  1. There will be one Action Plan for the group to be completed in September with pupils and revisited half termly to review progress against plans set out. 
  2. Teachers will liaise on the ideas and work to be undertaken in the plan by each group to ensure limited duplication.
  3. Year 6 pupils will prepare a speech to apply apply for Chair/Vice and Senior Committee roles. Elected members are encouraged to take ownership of the plan and be apart of reviewing progress against the actions set out.
  4. To start Chair/Vice and Senior Committee members will be expected to share an outline of their plans at assembly and speak in front of Governors/Visitors.
